WHEN THE PLAN STOPS WORKING
You did everything right. It fell apart anyway. What now?
When the plan stops working, it can take your sense of self with it. I help you identify the beliefs and assumptions keeping you stuck, test them, and build a Life Operating Manual: written principles and decision rules for what comes next.
WHY YOU'RE STUCK
The plan fell apart. That doesn't mean you did.
When life loses its structure, it is easy to read it as personal failure. But the thing keeping you stuck is often not a flaw in you. It is the reasoning you are using to find a way forward. From the inside, its blind spots are hard to see. Together, we make them visible and test what holds.

Time
The in-between has no natural end date. Weeks can become years.
Identity
"I don't know who I am" can start to feel less like a phase and more like the truth.
Momentum
Confidence fades. Decisions stall. People close to you feel the strain.
WHAT STAYING STUCK COSTS
Staying in the in-between isn't neutral.
Waiting to feel ready costs time, identity, and momentum.
WHAT THIS IS
Not advice you'll forget. A way of thinking you keep.
Logic-Based Consultation is a structured philosophical method for examining the beliefs and assumptions beneath feeling stuck. We make your reasoning visible, test what holds, and replace what does not. You leave with a Life Operating Manual: your principles, decision framework, and way forward in writing.
“ScaleUnion didn’t just advise — they restructured how we operate. Within weeks, decision-making was clearer and execution stopped stalling.”

Client retention across multi-phase engagements

Clarity
See what is actually keeping you stuck.

Rigour
Test the reasoning beneath the feeling.

Ownership
Leave with principles and a framework that are yours.
This is not therapy. I do not diagnose or treat mental illness. If you are in crisis or need clinical care, this work is not a substitute. I will help point you toward appropriate support.

How it works
A defined arc. Not open-ended sessions.
Start with a free conversation. We will talk through what is happening, answer your questions, and decide whether this is a fit.
Phase 1
See it
Find the patterns and assumptions keeping you stuck.
Phase 2
Test it
Challenge what does not hold. Strengthen what does.
Phase 3
Make it yours
Turn the work into your Life Operating Manual: written principles and decision rules you can keep using.
is this for you?
This works best when you want your own answers.
Not everyone is the right fit — and saying so plainly is part of the work.
This is for you
A good fit if you:
- Want to understand your thinking, not be handed a plan.
- Are willing to write and reflect, not just talk.
- Want something you can keep, not a helpful hour that fades.
This isn't for you
Not a fit if you:
- Want someone else to give you the answer.
- Do not want to work on paper.
- Want quick reassurance without examining what is underneath.
WHY A METHOD?
More than a good conversation.

Early evidence
Logic-Based Consultation has been tested in a randomized controlled study. The trial was small and early, but it is a real starting point. (J. of Rational-Emotive & Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, 2023)

A studied foundation
The method draws from the same rational tradition as cognitive-behavioural therapy, one of the most studied approaches to how thinking shapes feeling. (Hofmann et al., Cognitive Therapy and Research, 2012)

Writing matters
Across 146 randomized studies, structured writing showed modest but reliable benefits. That is why we work on paper. (Frattaroli, Psychological Bulletin, 2006)
ABOUT SARAH
I know this kind of turning point.
I spent seven years building a life in philosophy: a cum laude master’s degree from Stellenbosch, years of teaching, and a PhD path toward a lectureship. Then the position disappeared, the dissertation stalled, and I walked away without a next plan. That turning point led me to philosophical consulting. I trained under Dr Elliot D. Cohen, certified in Logic-Based Consultation, and built Socratic Chair for people facing the same kind of in-between.
